A 1959 Blueprint, a Modern Load
When the Perl-Mack Company opened its first five show homes in June 1959, more than 15,000 people came to see them. By 1962, roughly 3,000 houses stood in what Life magazine and the National Association of Home Builders called the most perfectly planned community in America. Those homes were built well, but their electrical systems were sized for life in 1960. Six decades later, many Northglenn houses are still running on original or lightly updated panels, and that's where we come in.
Signs Your Northglenn Home Is Due for an Upgrade
Watch for these warning signs in an older home:
- Breakers that trip when the microwave and space heater run together
- Two-prong outlets with no ground, or extension cords as permanent fixtures
- Lights that dim when the air conditioner kicks on
- Warm switch plates, buzzing outlets or scorch marks
- A panel brand or fuse box an inspector flagged during a sale
Any one of these deserves a closer look. We start with an evaluation and give you a free estimate that separates what needs fixing now from what can wait.
Permits, Licensing and Who Does the Work
Northglenn lets homeowners do some electrical work on their own homes with a permit. A licensed professional is required, however, when a house is being sold or is occupied by tenants, which covers landlords and anyone fixing items from a buyer's inspection. Any contractor hired for work on a Northglenn home must be licensed with the city and is responsible for pulling the permit and arranging inspections. Rough electrical inspections must happen before walls are closed, so we schedule remodel work in step with the Building Division.
Beyond panels, Northglenn customers call us for EV chargers, basement and kitchen remodel wiring, LED lighting and surge protection. Businesses near the I-25 corridor and the Northglenn Marketplace area can rely on us for commercial lighting, low-voltage systems and maintenance contracts.
Nearby service areas include Thornton, Federal Heights and Westminster.
