Oven, Stove and Range Wiring

In the old days, the then-modern kitchen had a stove that included a range and an oven. In today’s haute cuisine kitchen there are range tops, multiple wall ovens, convection ovens, and microwave ovens capable of preparing a feast for the largest family or the finest party with no juggling of cook times.

These appliances are wonderful assets, but they are also big users of power and they need to be wired properly, with the circuits capable of handling the load, to truly enjoy their many benefits.

Allstar Electrical Services has all of the necessary expertise to ensure that your ovens, stoves and ranges all work safely and conveniently, and that everything else in the kitchen – food processors, toasters, blenders, bread machines, rice cookers; everything – can be used at the same time for perfect entertaining.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Most electric ovens and ranges require a dedicated 240V circuit sized to the appliance rating. We’ll confirm manufacturer specs and install the correct breaker, wiring, and receptacle or hardwired connection.

Many newer installations use 4-wire connections to separate neutral and ground for improved safety. Some older homes may have 3-wire setups. We can evaluate your existing wiring and make recommendations based on safety and current code requirements.

Absolutely. If you’re moving the range or oven location, we can reroute wiring, install the correct receptacle, and ensure the circuit is protected and properly grounded. We coordinate placement with cabinetry and appliance specs.

Breaker trips can be caused by appliance faults, undersized wiring, loose connections, or a failing breaker. We can diagnose whether the issue is in the appliance or the electrical system and then provide a safe repair plan.
