Bring Your Building On-Board with Sustainable Lighting

There are two organizations in Denver that are promoting sustainable energy-saving measures for commercial and multifamily buildings. The Denver 2030 District is an interdisciplinary public/private collaborative working to create a high-performance building district in downtown Denver. It’s part of a nationwide network that seeks voluntary compliance in meeting the goal of a 50% reduction in energy use in core business areas by 2030 along with similar reductions in water use and vehicle emissions.

The Energize Denver Task Force brings together key stakeholders to evaluate building efficiency programs with the goal of reducing energy consumption of commercial and multifamily buildings throughout the city by 10% by the end of 2020 and doubling that reduction in the following decade.

Building Code Changes by the City and County of Denver

Along with voluntary measures, the City and County of Denver has also implemented building code changes that address electric meter requirements and electric vehicle readiness along with measures to encourage renovation and remodeling of older buildings. Allstar Electrical Services is working with owners, designers, and managers to ensure their properties conform to the new codes and have a safe, efficient electrical backbone to support them.
