Allstar electrical contractors wins three coveted iec awards



ELECTRICAL PROJECTS TAKE TOP HONORS IN 2007

DENVER, CO - Allstar Electrical Services, LLC won three awards from the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) including top honors for Commercial Project Under $1,000,000 at the March 29, 2007 awards banquet held in Denver.

The awards presented to Allstar Electrical Services included the Summit Award for the Warren Occupational Technical Center in the category of Commercial Project Under $1,000,000. Only one winner in each electrical category takes home this prestigious top honor known as the Summit Award.

Additionally, Allstar Electrical Services was honored for Low Voltage Category, Meritorious Award for Haney’s Coffee Shop, an installation of Photovoltaics. Plus Allstar Electrical Services took home the Meritorious Award for the Courtyard by Marriott Project for Commercial Projects Under $1,000,000.

In early 2007, Allstar Electrical Services finished a 100% remodel of the 12-story Cherry Creek Hotel into what is now known as the Courtyard by Marriott. The project is located at 1475 S Colorado Blvd. in Denver, Colorado. The first floor of the 128,327 square foot building consists of the reception area, indoor pool with whirlpool and exercise facilities, 6,000 square feet of meeting space with a business library, a cafe-style restaurant, and a lounge area. The next ten floors contain the 240 guest rooms of varying sizes, each of which was completely renovated in the scope of construction. The top floor contains a prep kitchen, and a dining/banquet area with a nearly 360 degree view of the Denver metro area and Front Range of the Rockies. The scope of work included the installation of a new 3000 amp service plus new general lighting throughout, power retrofits, a building-wide fire alarm system, parking lot lighting and overall site lighting.

In 2006, Allstar Electrical Services performed the electrical portion of the remodel at Warren Occupation Technical Center in Lakewood, Colorado, the career and technical high school for Jefferson County Public Schools offering technical training for mostly junior and senior high school students. The scope of work at the Warren Tech campus for this project included work at all four campus buildings.

In 2006, Allstar Electrical Services added Photovoltaics to the rooftop of Haney’s Coffee Shop in the Highlands, an up-and-coming neighborhood on the west side of I-25.Photovoltaics - solar technology - power and heat the coffee shop, plus generate enough additional energy that supplies the grid serving the area around 38th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard. Residential and commercial property owners earn tax credits for installation of photovoltaic systems, plus get a check back from Xcel each month for the energy their system generates beyond what they use.
